WINES THAT REFLECT THEIR ORIGINS
Blecua dates back to the end of the 11th century when it was used as a place for French Benedictine monks from Santa Fe de Conques to retreat to. The winery backs onto a beautiful stately home reminiscent, in terms of its architectural style, of an Italia villa. Built at the end of the 19th century, the house was restored in order to build the winery in which our most iconic wine, Blecua, is made.
DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN
The Somontano Designation of Origin was introduced in 1985 and, as well as establishing quality parameters, it represents respect for a specific geographical provenance and tradition, as all the grapes used to make the wines that carry the D.O. label are grown in vineyards in the region. Somontano is an innovative, forward-thinking Designation of Origin that in a few brief years has gained an excellent reputation for its wines both in Spain and internationally.
