We have been in the Ribera del Duero since before the Ribera del Duero D.O. came into existence. Not just within the limits set by the Regulatory Council but following 2km of meandering riverbank. Our vineyards stand on soil covered in river pebbles and have been battling the area’s climatic conditions for 60 years.
DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN RIBERA DEL DUERO
Since 1982, the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin has embraced and regulated some 22,300 hectares of vineyards around the Duero river basin, a region with a winegrowing tradition that goes back more than 2,500 years. Its red wines, which display an unmistakable character that expresses all the subtleties of the terroir and of its indigenous variety, the Tinta del país, have made the region one of the most prestigious in the world and also, perhaps, the favourite of lovers of good wine looking for more complex, enriching experiences.
