Sella & Mosca
In 1899, engineer Sella and lawyer Mosca from Piedmont joined forces to start a wine company on the enchanting island of Sardinia, located halfway between Italy and Spain. This decision quickly led to the transformation of abandoned meadows into a thriving vineyard. Partly because of this, Sella & Mosca established themselves as a leading wine producer in Sardinia.
Isolated from other wine regions, Sella & Mosca developed a unique view of the vineyard. They were among the pioneers who successfully grafted European vines onto American rootstocks, playing a crucial role in the recovery of European vineyards after the phylloxera crisis.
